While Apple hasn't officially announced it, a series of leaks about the iPhone 18 have revealed many notable upgrades, promising to continue shaping the trend of high-end smartphones in the future.
According to numerous leaks, Apple is reportedly changing its iPhone 18 launch strategy by separating the standard version from the premium models. Specifically, the standard iPhone 18 could appear in the spring of 2027, while the Pro and Pro Max versions are expected to launch earlier in the fall of 2026, possibly even alongside the first foldable iPhone.

RAM capacity is increasing dramatically, a step towards artificial intelligence.
One of the most notable upgrades is the RAM capacity. The standard iPhone 18 is expected to have up to 12GB of RAM, the same as the Pro versions and significantly more than the 8GB on the iPhone 17.
Increasing RAM not only improves multitasking capabilities but also supports artificial intelligence (AI) features. Apple is expected to push AI further in iOS 27, particularly with improvements related to the Siri virtual assistant, which requires more hardware resources to function smoothly.
A20 chip, 2nm process: faster, more energy efficient.
The iPhone 18 is expected to be equipped with the next-generation A20 chip, manufactured using an advanced 2nm process. As a result, performance could increase by approximately 15% compared to the A19 chip in the iPhone 17, while power consumption would decrease by up to 30%.
