The Guinness World Records organization recognizes the robot, created by a British engineer, as the largest six-legged, manned robot.
Mantis, a robot created by engineer Matt Denton in Hampshire, England, has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest six-legged, human-operated robot.UPIAccording to a report on September 17th, the robot is 2.8 meters tall, 5 meters long, and weighs nearly two tons.
The Mantis operates with a driver seated in the cab or via remote control. It can navigate various terrains at a maximum speed of 1 km/h. The Mantis is equipped with a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine.
This robot model was inspired by the "Star Wars" movies that Denton watched as a child. He spent three years researching and developing Mantis, and the first successful test took place in 2012.
