A robot named Chubby suddenly smashed the glass of the booth at the 18th China International High-Tech Fair held in Wuzhen, China, injuring a man, Sina reported yesterday.
The Chubby robot is a joint product of Evolver and the Robotics Institute of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and is intended to teach children aged 4-12. It costs about $1,890.
On November 17, while on display at the fair, the robot suddenly smashed the glass of the display booth, destroying the booth. Photos taken at the scene showed an injured man being carried away on a stretcher shortly after.

The fair organizers said the incident was caused by human error. The operator confused the "forward" and "backward" buttons, causing the robot to crash into the glass, injuring people nearby. However, the incident still raised concerns among many Chinese people about the safety of robots.
