A robot named Chubby unexpectedly smashed the glass of a booth at the 18th International High-Tech Fair in Wuzhen, China, injuring a man, Sina reported yesterday.
The Chubby robot is a collaborative product between Evolver and the Robotics Research Institute of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, designed to teach children aged 4-12. It costs approximately $1,890.
On November 17th, while on display at a trade fair, the robot unexpectedly smashed the glass of the exhibition booth, damaging the display stand. Photos taken at the scene show an injured man being carried away on a stretcher shortly afterward.

The fair organizers said the incident was caused by human error. The operator confused the "forward" and "backward" buttons, causing the robot to crash through glass and injure people nearby. However, the incident has still raised concerns among many Chinese citizens about the safety of robots.
