The former Indonesian coach attended the UEFA Youth League match at Cobham, met John Terry, and supported his son Shane Kluivert. The match was against Chelsea and Barcelona, which ended 3-0 in favor of The Blues.
After retiring from the Indonesian national team, Patrick Kluivert appeared at Chelsea's Cobham training ground to watch the Chelsea U19 vs. Barcelona U19 match in the UEFA Youth League 2025/2026. There, he met Chelsea legend John Terry and posed for photos before the game. According to sources, Kluivert was there to watch and support his son, Shane Kluivert, a Barcelona U19 player.
This U19 match was held at the Cobham training ground in London on Tuesday (local time), just before the main Champions League clash between Chelsea and Barcelona. The club match then concluded with a 3-0 victory for The Blues early Wednesday morning.
Following the decision to part ways with Indonesia.
Patrick Kluivert is currently unemployed after being dismissed by the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) on October 16, 2025, for failing to help the national team qualify for the 2026 World Cup finals. He and his assistants and staff had their contracts terminated following two consecutive defeats against Saudi Arabia (2-3) and Iraq (0-1) in the fourth round of the Asian qualifiers.
Achievements during 10 months in charge of the Indonesian national team.
Appointed in early January 2025, the former Curacao national team coach led Indonesia in 8 matches across all competitions until October 2025, with a record of 3 wins, 1 draw, and 4 losses.
Specifically, the victories included: 1-0 against Bahrain and 1-0 against China (in the third round), along with a 6-0 friendly win against Chinese Taipei in early September. The remaining friendly ended in a 0-0 draw against Lebanon. The four defeats were all heavy: a 1-5 loss to Australia, a 0-6 loss to Japan, a 2-3 loss to Saudi Arabia, and a 0-1 loss to Iraq.

A moment at Cobham and the career context.
Kluivert's visit to Cobham was linked to the UEFA Youth League and a family goal: following Shane Kluivert in the Barcelona U19 team. The photo taken with John Terry shows the camaraderie between the former stars, on a day when the focus of football in London stretched from the youth teams to the Champions League match between the two clubs.
At the moment, Patrick Kluivert has not announced his next plans in his coaching career. His presence at Cobham is therefore another facet of football: where generations succeed each other, and a coach who has just left the national team is in the stands to cheer on his son at a youth tournament.
