The lively Phuc Luc Ngoat Festival takes place by the waves of Cua Lo beach.

Approximately 70 boats, 270 electric vehicles, and over 700 local people participated in the 2026 Phuc Luc Ngoat Yen Luong Temple Traditional Festival, which took place from the 14th to the 16th of June in the lunar calendar at Nghi Thuy 3 block, Cua Lo ward, Nghe An province.

den yen luong (4) — On the morning of July 28th, despite occasional rain and wind, the ceremonies within the framework of the traditional Phuc Luc Ngoat Festival at Yen Luong Temple were still held solemnly and safely, attracting a large number of locals and tourists. den yen luong (18) — The highlight of the festival is the Vọng Nghinh ceremony. From early morning, dozens of fishing boats, decorated with national flags, festival flags, and flowers, leave the harbor in a procession to the lively sounds of drums and trumpets. The fleet proceeds to a point about 2 km from the shore to perform the ritual of inviting the sea gods to attend the ceremony and witness the sincerity of the people. Photo: Đình Tuyên

den yen luong (15) — According to Mr. Truong Van Canh, representative of the Yen Luong Temple Management Board, the temple currently preserves incense sticks and incense burners that were brought from Corn Temple (Quynh Mai commune, Nghe An province). Therefore, the procession must proceed to the designated location offshore to perform the ritual of welcoming the deity. “This year is the Year of the Horse, so the locality is organizing a grand ceremony. den yen luong (10) — The Phuc Luc Ngoat Festival has a history of approximately 400-500 years, was restored in 2007, and is celebrated every three years in the years of the Rat, Horse, Rabbit, and Rooster. We are very pleased that the ceremonies took place solemnly and beautifully. Mr. Phung Duc Nhan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo Ward, said that in the coming time, the locality will renovate the landscape of Yen Luong Temple, and at the same time connect the historical site with the seafood market and cultural and tourist attractions in the area. Through this, the ward aims to form a tour route combining sightseeing, relaxation, experiencing life in a fishing village, and learning about the unique spiritual and cultural values of Cua Lo.
