A lively festival of going down to the fields and a rice planting competition took place in Chieu Luu commune, a mountainous area.
On the morning of February 28th, Chieu Luu commune organized the Rice Planting Festival combined with the 2026 Rice Planting Competition, attracting a large number of officials, Party members, and people from the villages and hamlets to participate.
Attending and sharing in the joy with the farmers' association members of Chieu Luu commune was Comrade Nguyen Hong Son - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association.

The rice planting festival is a deeply rooted traditional cultural activity of the people of Chieu Luu commune in the highlands, expressing their wish for a year of favorable weather, abundant harvests, and prosperity.
From early morning, people in the commune gathered at Tat Thoong village - the village chosen by Chieu Luu commune as the venue for this year's Spring Festival.

The ceremonial part included many lively activities, such as cultural performances and traditional dances of the Thai and Khơ Mú ethnic groups, followed by a solemn and respectful incense offering and prayer for a good harvest.
Following the ceremony was the lively and exciting rice planting competition. This year's competition featured four teams from different villages in the commune. The teams were well-prepared in terms of manpower, rice varieties, and tools. Each team followed the technical procedures, ensuring the correct spacing, density, and completion time. The neatly planted rows of rice demonstrated the skill and experience of the highland farmers.

The competition also serves as an opportunity for interaction, encouragement, and motivation for the people to strive to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, expand cultivated areas, actively apply scientific and technical advancements to production, and improve crop productivity and quality; while simultaneously preserving and promoting traditional cultural identity associated with agricultural life.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the team from Tat Thoong village, the second prize to Xieng Thu village, and the third prize jointly to La Ngan and Luu Hoa villages.
