These four world-renowned figures in football are expected to visit six major cities in Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Bien Hoa, and Can Tho – as part of the "UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour 2017 - Igniting the Football Fun" program organized by Heineken. Fans will have the opportunity to see the trophy of the most prestigious club competition up close, take commemorative photos, and interact with these big names.
In 2008, before participating in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Brazilian Olympic team, including Ronaldinho, Pato, Diego, Thiago Silva, Marcelo, Rafinha, and others, along with coach Carlos Dunga, came to Vietnam to play a friendly match and won 2-0 against the Vietnamese national team at My Dinh Stadium. Ronaldinho has since retired.

Meanwhile, Frank De Boer transitioned into coaching. Dutch media reported that he was offered the position of successor to Danny Blind as head coach of the Dutch national team, although he denied it. His twin brother, Ronald De Boer, is currently an assistant coach at Ajax.
In recent years, Vietnamese football fans have had the opportunity to see the Champions League trophy up close. Most recently, in April 2016, two former football legends, Carles Puyol and Ruud Gullit, visited Vietnam with the Champions League trophy.
