The Spanish Football Federation handed down a one-match suspension in the Super Cup and a four-match suspension in La Liga to CR7.

The punishment for Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid is divided into two parts. In the first part, Ronaldo was suspended for one match for receiving two yellow cards in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona yesterday, August 13th. The first card was for taking off his shirt to celebrate, and the second for diving, according to the league's announcement.Ronaldo was also fined approximately $410, while Real Madrid paid $940.

In the second part, Ronaldo received a four-match suspension for pushing referee Bengoetxea. This is the minimum penalty under Article 96 of the Spanish football regulations (four to 12 matches). Real Madrid was also fined an additional $1,650, and Ronaldo had to pay an extra $3,540.

With this suspension, Ronaldo will miss the second leg on August 16th at the Bernabeu. The number 7 star is also likely to miss the first four La Liga matches of the new season: against Deportivo, Valencia, Levante, and Sociedad.

Ronaldo and Real Madrid will have 10 days to appeal.
