Ronaldo wants to return to MU under Amorim
Ronaldo would “love” to return to Manchester United if his friend Ruben Amorim, now the club’s coach, believes he can help the team.
With only one year left on Cristiano Ronaldo's contract with Al-Nassr, his future has become a subject of much speculation.
Despite being 39 and turning 40 in February 2025, Ronaldo has maintained his impressive goalscoring form in the Saudi Pro League and could continue playing for a long time. Speculation has been rife that he could move to Al-Hilal to fill the void left by Neymar's departure. However, there is also the possibility of Ronaldo returning to the Premier League, where he has enjoyed success in the past.
A key factor in Ronaldo's return to United is his close relationship with Ruben Amorim, who is currently the coach at Old Trafford. Ronaldo and Amorim were teammates on the Portugal U21 team, and their relationship is said to be quite close. Meanwhile, Louis Saha, Ronaldo's old friend at United, believes that the striker would be more than willing to return to the team if invited by his close friend.
Saha told Betfred: “Ronaldo would definitely want to return to United in a role where he is respected. Although his previous departure was not on good terms, the players and fans understand what he is saying. Ruben Amorim would not sign Ronaldo just because they are friends. Amorim would only do it if he believed Ronaldo could help the team.”
Although Ronaldo left United after falling out with coach Erik ten Hag in November 2022, there is no denying his contribution to the Red Devils in his second spell. Ronaldo scored 27 goals in 54 appearances and is always ready to take on a new challenge. If Amorim believes he can bring change to United, Ronaldo will not hesitate to return.
