Typically, on the afternoon of January 23, 2017 (the 26th day of the Lunar New Year), many ATMs in Quynh Luu district were overloaded due to the large number of people withdrawing money. In particular, some ATMs were out of order, causing people to wait for hours.

According to our investigation, each bank in Quynh Luu district only has one ATM; only the Vietnam Industrial and Commercial Bank has two ATM locations with three machines, but even that is insufficient to meet the demand for cash withdrawals during the Lunar New Year period. Therefore, people have to wait a very long time to withdraw money.
