Nghe An: There is still a situation of building standard schools in the style of 'college entrance exam preparation'
(Baonghean.vn) - Talking to the monitoring team, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh admitted that the construction of standard schools in localities and schools has long been following the "university entrance exam" style, focusing on working hard and then "relaxing" when meeting the standards, without the awareness of building a standard school with class and prominence.
Current events
The reality of waiting and relying on the budget in building standard schools in Thanh Chuong
(Baonghean.vn) - Reporting to the monitoring delegation of the People's Council of Nghe An province, the leader of the Department of Education of Thanh Chuong district admitted that some grassroots localities have not been resolute, still waiting and relying on the state budget and national target programs to build standard schools.
Vinh city has a lower rate of qualified schools than the provincial average.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the report of Vinh City People's Committee, currently the whole city has 67 schools meeting national standards, reaching 68%, while the average of the whole province is 73%.
Quynh Luu is a pioneer and a latecomer in building national standard schools.
(Baonghean.vn) - In the past, Quynh Luu was the leading locality in the movement to build national standard schools at level I and from level I to level II; but currently this work is stagnant, ranking 16th in the province.
Many schools meet standards but are not 'standard'
(Baonghean.vn) - Many schools in Que Phong district (Nghe An), although recognized as meeting standards, still have inadequate and rudimentary facilities, not meeting the regulations of a standard school.
Building national standard schools: Lack of resources and risk of "falling" standards
The Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress, term XVII (2010 - 2015) set a target of 60 to 65% of general schools in the province meeting the standards by the end of 2015. Over the past years, all levels, sectors and schools in the province have made great efforts to implement this target, but through the supervision of the Department of Culture - Society and the Provincial People's Council, this target is very difficult to achieve.
Concerns about standard schools "failing to meet standards"
The development of national standard school criteria to reach a level of quality and international standards at all levels of education is the goal that the country's education is aiming for. Therefore, the national standard measurement has been actively strived for by many localities in our province. As a result, the number of schools meeting national standards is increasing. However, in many places, many schools have "fallen the standard" and many schools are facing the risk of "falling the standard". That is really a difficult problem that the education managers of our province are struggling to find a solution.
