Invite your friends to steal the unit's electric cable
(Baonghean.vn) - Thang, a worker at Tan Ky District Electricity Company (Nghe An), invited two friends to steal property from the agency, causing a total loss of 16,089,000 VND in just 3 days.
On September 24, Tan Ky District People's Court tried the criminal case against Hoang Nghia Thang (born in 1986), residing in Hamlet 7A, Hung Long Commune, Hung Nguyen District, Nguyen Van Trung (born in 1987) and Le Dinh Cuong (born in 1989), both residing in Ky Tan Commune, Tan Ky District.

According to the indictment, at around 1:30 a.m. on June 16, 2018, Thang invited Trung to steal electric cables from Tan Ky District Electricity. Arriving at the Intermediate Transformer Station in Block 3, Tan Ky Town, the two climbed over the fence to break into the Transformer Station and stole a set of 35KV mobile grounding wires weighing 12 kg and took them outside. They went to the scrap collection point to sell them to Mr. Duong Duc Quy for 800,000 VND, then divided them among themselves.
Next,At around 0:30 a.m. on June 17, 2018, Thang invited Trung and Cuong to break into room 01 of the Tan Ky District Electricity Materials Warehouse to steal a roll of 2*16mm2 cross-section electric cable weighing 45 kg and take it outside.
At around 6:30 a.m. the same day, Nguyen Van Trung brought the stolen electric cable to the scrap collection point and sold it to Mr. Quy for 3,600,000 VND. Mr. Quy sold the ground wire and electric cable to an unknown scrap collector, so they have not been recovered yet.
On the same day, at around 8:00 p.m., Thang went to the Tan Ky District Electricity Supply Warehouse to steal a roll of electric cable with a cross-section of 3*50+1*35mm2, 12 m long, weighing 22 kg and took it to sell. At around 1:30 a.m. on June 18, 2018, the three continued to climb over the fence to break into the warehouse area, and Tan Ky District Electricity stole the roll of electric cable. This roll of cable was sold to Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh for 1,952,000 VND and then divided the money to spend immediately afterwards.
On June 19, 2018, realizing that his actions were illegal, Hoang Nghia Thang surrendered to the Tan Ky District Police. Thang compensated the Tan Ky District Electricity Authority with 8.7 million VND in damages.dong; Cuong has compensated 2,050,000 dong. Tan Ky District Electricity Authority also requested the defendants to continue to compensate for damages of 7,109,600 dong.
In addition, at the Investigation Agency, Thang also confessed: previously, on June 10, 2018, Thang asked Trung to steal a roll of electric cable with a cross-section of 2*16mm2, weighing 18 kg, and sold it for 1,700,000 VND. This roll of electric cable has not been recovered yet.
At the end of the trial, the panel sentenced Thang to 16 months in prison, Trung to 14 months in prison and Cuong to 9 months in prison.
