The opening ceremony of the 9th National Sports Games was spectacular.

The opening ceremony of the 9th National Sports Games in 2022 consisted of three parts: Vietnamese Aspirations; Convergence and Dissemination; and For a Prosperous Vietnam.

At the opening ceremony, the sacred flame of the Games, taken from the Ho Chi Minh Museum, was carried into the square by nine outstanding Vietnamese athletes to light the ceremonial flame. This Games is considered the largest ever, with over 10,000 athletes competing in 43 sports for 900 sets of medals.

Along with 10 provinces and cities in the northern region, Quang Ninh was chosen to host many important events, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and dozens of competitions of the 9th National Sports Games.

Quang Ninh was chosen as the host province for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and 21 sports events at the 9th National Sports Games in 2022.

The opening ceremony was spectacular.

Mr. Nguyen Phuc Loc from the Ben Tre delegation said: "The Ben Tre athletes are very excited to come to Quang Ninh, bringing with them a lot of enthusiasm. We find the country and people of Quang Ninh very beautiful and the organization very grand." Having started the competitions on November 26th, the 9th National Sports Games have so far recorded 184 gold medals, 179 silver medals, and 253 bronze medals.

The Games have a very important task: to discover and select athletes to serve in crucial competitions in 2023 such as the ASAID and the 2024 Paris Olympics. Furthermore, this Games also utilizes modern equipment in swimming, athletics, and shooting, something that other Games have not been able to do.”

The 9th National Sports Congress in 2022 was considered the largest-scale congress ever, with over 10,000 athletes competing in 43 sports.

The opening ceremony of the 9th National Sports Games in 2022 consisted of three parts: Vietnam's Aspiration; Convergence and Dissemination; and For a Prosperous Vietnam. The artistic performances focused on portraying the "Dynamic - Creative - Generous - Civilized - Friendly" spirit of the people of Quang Ninh, who are strongly rising up and extending their arms to welcome convergence from all directions.
