After sacking coach Marian Mihail, will FLC Thanh Hoa re-hire Ljupko Petrovic?
Following their heavy 1-3 defeat against Sanna Khanh Hoa BVN on the afternoon of April 5th, the FLC Thanh Hoa club leadership decided to take action.
As expected, just one more defeat would have left coach Marian Mihail facing a bleak future. And what was bound to happen did happen: after the humiliating 1-3 loss in the rescheduled match of the first round of the V.League 2018, the Romanian strategist was officially sacked.
In nearly four months since taking office, the 59-year-old coach has failed to significantly improve the Thanh Hoa team's performance. In fact, in some aspects, the team's playing style has been criticized as lackluster, lacking distinctiveness, and comprehensively inferior to that of his predecessor, Ljupko Petrovic.

After four matches in the V.League, with two wins and two losses, the former Technical Director of the Romanian Football Federation has failed to gain the trust of the club's management. Previously, they had patiently given Mihail a chance after his extremely poor performances in the AFC Cup.
Currently, FLC Thanh Hoa has not announced the identity of its new head coach. However, according to a source close to Goal.com, the possibility of Ljupko Petrovic being invited back to Thanh Hoa is entirely plausible. This is because the 71-year-old coach is currently on vacation and completely free.
A representative for this individual revealed that if FLC Thanh Hoa made an offer, Mr. Petrovic would not hesitate to return to Vietnam to try his luck once more. However, this is only a hypothesis, as the FLC Thanh Hoa leadership has not yet taken any concrete action to push this deal forward.
