Dr. Alan Green, a renewable energy expert at the University of Cambridge, shared: "Continuously charging electric vehicle batteries will reduce their energy storage capacity in the long term. To extend battery life, users should try to keep the charge level below 100%, ideally between 80-90%."
Electric vehicle batteries are different from those in mobile devices; they require better management to avoid degradation after prolonged use. Overcharging increases oxidation in the battery cells, leading to reduced performance and energy storage capacity.

Another factor that electric vehicle users need to be aware of is the effect of temperature during a full charge. When the battery is fully charged, it tends to heat up, especially in high-temperature environments. This high temperature can reduce the battery's performance and lead to overheating, decreasing its ability to maintain driving range.
Dr. Green further explained: "When a battery reaches 100%, it not only retains energy but also generates heat. Continuously charging to full capacity not only reduces performance but can also cause safety issues related to overheating."
Fully charging the battery can also increase maintenance and replacement costs, as users will have to replace the battery when its performance drops below acceptable levels.
