The Lagerstroemia trees on this street were planted by the Department of Science and Technology with funding to create a highlight for the city. 100 Lagerstroemia trees were planted along a 1km stretch since 2017, and have so far produced two seasons of flowers. Previously, from the idea of a flower street, the Department of Science and Technology launched a contest and promoted socialized funding.
