Sacombank inaugurates a community bridge and presents gifts to impoverished households in Ky Son.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 3rd, in Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son district (Nghe An province), Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank), in coordination with Ky Son district, held an inauguration and handover ceremony for a pedestrian bridge and presented gifts to poor households in Na Ngoi commune.

Attending the inauguration ceremony on behalf of Sacombank were: Mr. Phan Dinh Tue - Secretary of the Party Committee, member of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Director of Sacombank; Mr. Dao Nguyen Vu - Deputy General Director of Sacombank; Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh - Director of the North Central Region; and Mr. Pham Viet Duc - Director of Sacombank Nghe An Branch.

On the local side, there was Comrade Vi Hoe - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Ky Son District Party Committee; leaders of the Ky Son District People's Committee, Na Ngoi Border Guard posts and a large number of people from Na Ngoi commune.

The pedestrian bridge over the flood in Tang Phan village, Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son district has been constructed.Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank)The project received funding worth 350 million VND. The bridge is 24m long and 2m wide, with two concrete abutments and a sturdy steel frame. Once completed, it will provide safe travel for nearly 150 households in two remote villages of Na Ngoi commune during the rainy season.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Dinh Tue, Secretary of the Party Committee, member of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Director of Sacombank, said: "Although the deadline was quite tight, the relevant parties ensured the progress and quality of the construction to hand over to the people. This is a gift that the collective of Sacombank's staff and employees saved and donated to support the poor district of Ky Son."

On this occasion, Sacombank would like to thank Ky Son district for providing maximum support to the construction unit; and hopes that the local authorities will continue to manage and maintain the project well so that it will be more sustainable.

Earlier, on the afternoon of March 2nd, Sacombank donated 200 gift packages worth 300 million VND; each package included 1 million VND in cash and goods worth 500,000 VND to poor and disadvantaged households in Na Ngoi commune (Ky Son district).

In his response, Comrade Vi Hoè, Secretary of the Ky Son District Party Committee, sincerely thanked Sacombank for its support to the impoverished communes of Ky Son over the past period. He also stated that, as a particularly disadvantaged district in the country, Ky Son still has approximately 500 locations that are frequently flooded and isolated during the rainy season, thus requiring many flood-resistant bridges like the one in Tang Phan village. He expressed hope that Sacombank would continue to support and accompany the locality in the future.

This is the 20th annual Springtime Warmth Program organized by Sacombank in 51 provinces and cities nationwide, as well as for Vietnamese communities in Laos and Cambodia, with a total budget of over 8 billion VND.

Over the past 20 years, Sacombank has contributed more than 85.5 billion VND to join hands with organizations to share difficulties and encourage people in less fortunate circumstances.

With the motto of accompanying development, Sacombank also implements many other annual community activities such as: Blood donation "Sharing from heart to heart",Scholarship "Nurturing Dreams""

In particular, in 2022, Sacombank continued to donate an additional 2 billion VND to the Hopeful Sun Program under the Hope Fund, raising the total contribution to 6 billion VND to further contribute to providing opportunities for treatment for underprivileged children with cancer.

Also in 2022, tens of thousands of Sacombank employees actively participated in 5 walking/running stages of the "Steps for the Community" race, organized by Sacombank and the Vietnam Youth Union, to raise funds for building community cultural centers for ethnic minority communities.

Na Ngoi border commune is located about 60 km west of Muong Xen town. The commune has 1,014 households with 6,794 inhabitants belonging to three ethnic groups: Mong, Thai, and Khmu. The commune has a natural area of ​​19,000 hectares, distributed into 19 villages, with the percentage of poor and near-poor households accounting for over 70%.
