Sacombank awarded nearly 11 billion VND in scholarships under the "Nurturing Dreams" program in 2023.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2023 - 2024, on the morning of September 5th, Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) Nghe An Branch, in coordination with the principals of schools in Nghe An province, organized a gift-giving ceremony for underprivileged students who have overcome difficulties.
Attending the opening ceremony and gift-giving at the No. 1 Ethnic Boarding High School in Nghe An province were:Comrade Bui Quang Huy - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc of Nghe An Province. Also attending were representatives from various departments, agencies and Sacombank Nghe An.
Attending and presenting scholarships to students at the Ethnic Boarding High School, campus 2, Nghe An province was Mr. Pham Viet Duc, Director of Sacombank Nghe An Branch.
A total of 55 scholarships were awarded to students in schools across Nghe An province, each consisting of 1.5 million VND and a backpack, given to underprivileged students who have overcome difficulties.
Specifically, it isEthnic Boarding High School 1, Ethnic Boarding High School 2, Bac Yen Thanh High School, Tay Hieu High School; and junior high schools including Hung Binh, Hung Loc, Nghi Phu (Vinh City), Dien Ky (Dien Chau) and Hoa Hieu 2 Junior High School (Thai Hoa Town).
In addition to giving gifts, Sacombank also presented awards to 5 students who won prizes in the writing contest "Soaring High" launched by Sacombank.

Specifically, in 2023, Sacombank offered nearly 4,000 scholarships, each worth 1.5 million VND, along with the chance to win prizes in a writing competition up to 5 million VND, and full scholarships worth 75 million VND for university students, along with job opportunities at Sacombank.
The scholarship recipients for 2023 are secondary and high school students in all provinces and cities where Sacombank branches operate, and second-year university students in Economics, Law, and Information Technology majors in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Southwestern region. Eligibility criteria include an average GPA of 7.0/10 or 2.5/4 or higher for the 2022-2023 academic year. In July-August 2023, Sacombank collaborated with schools to identify nearly 3,800 eligible students. Notably, this year marks the first time Sacombank has organized a writing competition with the theme "Soaring High" to further encourage the students' spirit.
It is known that, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the new school year 2023-2024, Sacombank awarded a total of nearly 3,800 scholarships, each worth 1.5 million VND and including a backpack; and also awarded 290 prizes worth from 500,000 VND to 5 million VND to students who won prizes in writing competitions nationwide. Students eligible for full scholarships should submit their applications according to the instructions on the website sacombankcareer.com from October 2023.
Students whose applications are selected will enter the "Conquest Round" held in November 2023 through in-person interviews where Sacombank will identify 40 students eligible to receive full scholarships, each worth 75 million VND plus a backpack, awarded for 3 consecutive years (25 million VND/year) until graduation.
In addition to full scholarships, this academic year Sacombank is also offering nearly 100 one-year scholarships, each worth 10 million VND and including a backpack, to eligible students at universities that have a long-standing partnership with Sacombank.
The "Nurturing Dreams" scholarship program, first organized by Sacombank in 2004 at the beginning of each school year, aims to encourage and support students on their educational journey. To date, Sacombank has awarded over 42,200 scholarships with a total budget of nearly 61 billion VND to students. In addition to scholarships, Sacombank also facilitates students' participation in training, orientation, skills development courses, internship programs, and job fairs each year, thereby making a practical contribution to education and providing career development opportunities for the younger generation.
