To be able to receive and operate wide-body aircraft capable of long-haul flights such as Boeing 787, 777, Airbus A350, Vinh Airport's runway needs to be extended to 3,000m.

Railway industry adds more cars to 22 trains when Vinh airport closes

After Vinh Airport temporarily stopped operating from July 1 for a six-month upgrade, the Railways quickly increased the number of train cars for 22 passenger trains passing through Vinh Station every day. This adjustment not only aims to reduce the pressure on people but also ensures a stable flow of passengers during the summer tourist season and the year-end holidays.
Vinh Airport is expected to temporarily close from July 1, 2025.

Vinh Airport is expected to temporarily suspend operations for about 6 months, starting from July 1, 2025, to implement a large-scale infrastructure renovation and upgrade project.
