'By fire dancer'

After CJ CGV, the management unit of SC VivoCity shopping mall, where the event took place, shared with Zing.vn reporter about the cause of the fire at the premiere of Kong: Skull Island.

The building also said that the organizers and the fire police team of District 7, Ho Chi Minh City quickly coordinated to evacuate all attendees from the dangerous area. SC VivoCity confirmed that the fire started due to the negligence of one of the fire dancers who ignited a part of the stage. The fire spread to the entire ornate decoration.

"The fire was extinguished within 5 minutes and the area was secured, with no casualties. The fire only burned the decorations in the event area. Attendees were stabilized and guided into the theater to watch the movie as originally planned," said a statement from SC VivoCity.
