The stadium with the most 'luxurious' name in France.

The Parc des Princes stadium, now the home ground of the famous Paris Saint Germain football team, was formerly a place of entertainment for royalty.

Parc des Princes is one of the most modern stadiums in France, with a capacity of up to 48,712 seats. It also hosted matches such as Romania vs. Switzerland (June 15th), Portugal vs. Austria (June 18th), and Northern Ireland vs. Germany (June 21st) during Euro 2016.

Many visitors find the name Parc des Princes strange. This unusual name originates from the fact that the stadium was built on a site that was once a hunting and recreation area for the French royal family and nobility. Since 1973, Parc des Princes has officially been the home stadium of the famous football team Paris Saint-Germain.

Previously, this location was chosen to host many famous events. Among them were the Tour de France, the European Cup finals, Euro 1984, and the 1998 World Cup. Since 1998, world-class events held here have become less frequent due to the emergence of another formidable "rival" called Stade France.

YardParc des Princes was officially inaugurated on June 4, 1972, after its second reconstruction. At that time, it became one of the most unique, modern, and luxurious landmarks in the world.

To date, Parc des Princes has undergone more than 10 renovations and upgrades. However, the stadium's capacity has remained unchanged because during these upgrades, the management only focused on modernizing the facilities or repairing the stands and roof.

Visitors to Paris, especially football fans, don't want to miss the opportunity to visit this stadium with its royal origins. Upon arrival, visitors can purchase food and drinks at the ground-level counters and walkways before entering the second floor. A wide variety of soft drinks and coffee are available. During tense matches where there's a risk of conflict between the two teams' fans, beer will not be served or sold. The snacks offered at the stadium are considered quite limited, with options such as french fries, hamburgers, sandwiches, or a small candy bar.

"When you're on a trip to Paris, having visited the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, and other highlights of the French capital, and still have time, please visit Parc de Princes to watch a Paris Saint-Germain match. You'll be immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of the stadium. This will certainly make your city tour even more worthwhile," suggests Stadiumjourney.
