(Baonghean.vn) - SLNA is one of the teams that did not "take a break" during the temporary suspension of V.League 2020. Coach Ngo Quang Truong and his team maintained two training sessions per day to be ready for any situation. However, the team has just suffered two more injuries.

While the V.League 2020 has yet to resume, the issue of upgrading the pitch is of great concern to Vietnamese fans. The poor quality of the grass at Vinh Stadium significantly affects the players during training and matches.

Immediately, the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) sent a letter to SLNA Club on March 23rd, demanding that they promptly rectify the situation during the V.League's temporary break, otherwise Vinh Stadium would not be suitable to host matches when the league resumes.

Given this situation, the SLNA club leadership stated that they have contacted a sports organization for assistance in renovating the stadium in the near future. According to our findings, the Vinh Stadium renovation project is already included in the plan of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee. Besides the funding issue, the renovation project, including the turf and lighting upgrades, also depends on the competition schedule and may have to wait until 2021.

Recently, coach Ngo Quang Truong and his team have had to constantly change training grounds, from artificial turf to the youth team's natural grass pitch, and have only recently returned to training at Vinh Stadium. This has resulted in SLNA suffering two more injuries: goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang and central defender Hoang Van Khanh.

In recent training sessions, goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang suffered an injury and could only do fitness training on the sidelines. Meanwhile, center-back Hoang Van Khanh sustained a muscle strain and is expected to need about a week before he can resume training.

Foreign player Peter Onyekachi also suffered a muscle strain, similar to Hoang Van Khanh's case, and was absent from the friendly match against Hong Linh Ha Tinh. Fortunately for coach Ngo Quang Truong, the player has been able to return to training.

The poor condition of the pitch has significantly affected SLNA's preparations for the 2020 V.League season. Previously, a Nigerian foreign center-back on trial was given a preliminary contract by the Nghe An team, but he suffered an injury just before the season began, forcing the SLNA coaching staff to register Gustavo Santos as a replacement.

How would canceling the 2020 V.League season affect Vietnamese football?

(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, Mr. Nguyen Hup - Chairman of Quang Nam Club - suggested that the 2020 V.League season should be canceled due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, the VPF (Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company) has not yet responded to this view.
