Morning of May 29th: 87 more positive cases; Bac Giang establishes 3 more field hospitals.
(Baonghean.vn) - Forecasting a continued increase in the number of nCoV positive cases in Bac Giang in the coming days, the Ministry of Health is preparing to set up three more field hospitals to receive patients.
The Ministry of Health reported 87 new positive cases of nCoV in the country on the morning of May 29, including 57 in Bac Giang, 27 in Bac Ninh, and 1 each in Bac Lieu, Gia Lai, and K Hospital's Tan Trieu facility.
Thus, two new provinces have reported Covid-19 cases: Bac Lieu and Gia Lai, bringing the total number of provinces and cities with outbreaks to 33.
87 new cases were recorded from numbers 6571-6657, bringing the total number of infections in Bac Giang to 1,881, Bac Ninh to 736, Hanoi to 356 (including 90 at the Central Tropical Diseases Hospital and 50 at K Hospital), and Bac Lieu and Gia Lai each to 1.

The total number of community infections from April 27th to date has reached 3,595 cases. Eight provinces, including Yen Bai, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue, have gone 14 days without recording any new cases. Since April 29th, 1,132,626 tests have been conducted on 2,106,308 people.
Forecasting a continued increase in the number of nCoV positive cases in Bac Giang in the coming days, the Ministry of Health is preparing to set up three more field hospitals to receive patients.
On May 28th, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son assigned Mr. Nguyen Trong Khoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health, to survey locations for establishing new field hospitals.
Mr. Khoa surveyed the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology; the Center for the Care of War Veterans; and the Bac Giang Employment Center. Specifically, the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology has a dormitory area that can accommodate 400 beds and about 200 beds in the school's gymnasium. The Center for the Care of War Veterans has 200 beds, almost ready to receive patients immediately.
The Bac Giang Employment Center is a newly constructed, five-story building that is not yet operational, but it is fully equipped and is planned to accommodate 1,000 beds and 200 accommodations for medical staff caring for patients.
Currently, Bac Giang has 10 facilities for treating Covid-19 patients, including 2 field hospitals. Last night, immediately after becoming operational, Field Hospital No. 2, with 628 beds located at the Bac Giang Provincial Sports Arena, received 537 patients.
Thus, with 3 more field hospitals being planned, Bac Giang will have 5 field hospitals. As of the afternoon of May 28th, Bac Giang province recorded over 1,700 Covid-19 patients, including 50 cases with worsening conditions and 39 cases with a very serious prognosis.
