No new Covid-19 cases were recorded on the morning of May 5th.
(Baonghean.vn) - In the past 24 hours, 11 more cases tested positive for nCoV, including 1 community case in Da Nang and 10 imported cases immediately placed in quarantine.
On the morning of May 5th, the Ministry of Health did not record any new infections. The total number of community infections from April 27th to the present is 38 cases, recorded in 7 provinces and cities including: Ha Nam and Vinh Phuc both with 14, Hanoi (4), Hung Yen and Da Nang both with 2, Ho Chi Minh City and Yen Bai both with 1 case.
Specifically, the community transmission chain in Ha Nam province, starting from April 29th, included 20 cases linked to patients returning from Japan, spreading to four provinces and cities: Ha Nam, Hanoi, Hung Yen, and Ho Chi Minh City.
The community transmission chain is linked to a group of Chinese experts, including 14 people in Vinh Phuc and 1 person in Hanoi. In addition, the source of infection for 2 cases in Da Nang is unknown.

Currently, nearly 600,000 people nationwide have been vaccinated against Covid-19. Meanwhile, in Nghe An province, as of the morning of May 5th, 21,167 people have been vaccinated. All vaccinated individuals are safe and stable.
According to a report from the Nghe An Department of Health, on May 4th, the province received an additional 148 cases for isolation and health monitoring. This brings the total number of people under isolation and monitoring to 971, the majority of whom are self-isolating at home. To date, Nghe An has collected 44,819 Covid-19 test samples; of which, 44,706 samples tested negative; 19 samples tested positive (from 4 patients isolated immediately after entry, of which 3 patients are currently being isolated and treated at the Southwest Regional General Hospital and 1 patient has recovered and been discharged); and 94 samples are awaiting results.
The world has recorded approximately 155 million cases of Covid-19, with more than 3.2 million deaths. The United States has the highest number of cases, followed by India and Brazil.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Health warns of a very high risk of infection entering the country from abroad if border controls are not strictly maintained. Citizens are advised to strictly adhere to the "5K" rules (Disinfection, Disinfection, and Prevention).
