This morning marks the opening of the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.
This morning (May 5th), the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly officially opened in Hanoi. This is a mid-year session with a longer duration than usual, featuring many important and urgent issues for consideration and decision.
The National Assembly delegation from Nghe An province consists of 12 delegates attending the session, led by Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province.
The 9th session will be conducted in two phases: Phase 1: from May 5th to May 29th, 2025; Phase 2: from June 11th and is expected to conclude on June 30th, 2025. The total working time of the National Assembly is expected to be 37 days.
At this session, the National Assembly will consider, discuss, and decide on a very large volume of work, including many urgent issues of significant importance to the country's development. These are major issues that the Central Committee has just agreed upon in principle at the 11th Central Committee Conference.
Some of the key issues under consideration include: amending and supplementing certain articles of the 2013 Constitution; reorganizing administrative units at all levels; streamlining the organizational structure; ensuring the continuous and effective operation of the state apparatus, avoiding disruptions and negative impacts on citizens and businesses.
It is expected that the National Assembly will consider and decide on 64 items and groups of items at this session, including: 3 resolutions on constitutional work; 49 laws and resolutions in the legislative field; and 12 groups of items related to socio-economic development, the state budget, oversight work, and other important issues.
At the same time, the National Assembly will also study eight groups of content reported by various agencies, in order to serve its oversight activities and review the content in accordance with the law.
With a spirit of innovation, science, and efficiency, the 9th Session is expected to make sound and timely decisions, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the state apparatus, and meeting the requirements of the new period.
