Real Sociedad midfielder Luka Sucic has expressed his excitement at being linked with Manchester United, but insists there has been no concrete offer from the English club.
As Manchester United prepare for the winter transfer window, Luka Sucic – the young Croatian star – has become a name to watch. Joining Real Sociedad from Red Bull Salzburg last summer, Sucic quickly established himself with 18 appearances in La Liga.
In an interview with Sportske Novosti, Sucic shared: “I have heard about this possibility through the media, but I have not received any official contact from Manchester United. Currently, I am very comfortable and happy at Real Sociedad.”
Nevertheless, the 21-year-old midfielder couldn't hide his excitement when the historic English club was mentioned: "Manchester United is a big club. I'm proud that my name is associated with them, but I'm still focused on my career and keeping my feet on the ground."
Sucic is currently one of the most promising midfielders in Croatian football. At Real Sociedad, he and Martin Zubimendi form a highly-rated midfield duo. Their consistency and creativity have attracted interest from many major clubs in Europe.
Under manager Ruben Amorim, Manchester United are looking to strengthen their squad after a run of inconsistent form. Sucic could be a potential addition to help the Red Devils improve their midfield for the remainder of the season.
However, all speculation remains just news, and the likelihood of completing this deal will depend on the developments of the January transfer window.
