Scaffolding collapse, 6 workers injured and killed

The scaffolding collapse killed two workers and injured four others.

The incident occurred at around 5:00 a.m. on October 13, at construction site No. 1, Giap Nhi Street, Thinh Liet Ward, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi.

Mr. Dinh Van Minh (63 years old, head of security team of residential group number 12) said that at that time, he and some relatives in his family suddenly heard a very loud "rumble".

Mr. Minh immediately ran up to the fifth floor to look at the construction site next door and saw that the construction scaffolding had collapsed and the workers were in a panic.

"Some workers shouted loudly that two people had fallen into the basement and were lying motionless," said this witness.

Construction site accident

Initial information shows that the accident killed two people, including a man and a woman; four others were injured.

Receiving information from local people, the authorities arrived, took the victims out of the scene and took them to the hospital for emergency treatment.

It is known that the building where the scaffolding collapsed is a 28-story office complex, currently under construction up to the sixth floor. After the accident, the entrance to the building was covered with tarpaulin, and construction was temporarily suspended.
