The rain was quite heavy, lasting more than 10 minutes with ice particles about 1-2 cm in diameter. Fortunately, the rain did not cause major damage to trees, crops or people's houses.
Hail often appears in the mountainous districts of Nghe An after days of intense heat. This is an extreme weather phenomenon, often causing danger and damage to people's lives.
Previously, on May 26, extreme weather also occurred in some other localities of Nghe An, causing damage to houses, livestock and even human lives.

Specifically, on the afternoon of May 26, a tornado collapsed and blew off the roofs of two houses in Thanh Chuong district. In Do Luong district, lightning killed one buffalo and one calf in Trung Son commune.
Also on May 26, in Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau district, a lightning strike occurred, killing one woman and injuring another person who had to be hospitalized.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next few days, in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will continue to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some heavy rain.
Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. Moderate to heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, the North Central Hydrometeorological Station warned that in the next few days, some mountainous districts may experience showers and strong thunderstorms, including Anh Son, Con Cuong, Ky Son, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Tan Ky, and Tuong Duong.
Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, hail and strong winds.
