After Nghe An Newspaper's reflection, the 'death' bridge has been repaired.
After Nghe An Newspaper published the article "Naming the 'death' bridges in Nghe An" on February 21, 2025, reflecting the serious deterioration of Ba Ba bridge over Vach Bac river (Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district), the local government quickly repaired it to ensure traffic safety for people.
Ba Ba Bridge was built in 1980, is an important connection between the residential area and the main road leading to the headquarters of Do Thanh Commune People's Committee and National Highway 1.
Over the years, due to the effects of time and weather conditions, this bridge has seriously degraded. The bridge surface has many large cracks, the railing system has collapsed, posing a potential risk of accidents, especially for students and local people when traveling back and forth every day.

Due to financial difficulties, the repair of Ba Ba Bridge has not been possible for many years. However, after the reflection of Nghe An Newspaper, the People's Committee of Do Thanh Commune mobilized resources from the State budget combined with socialized resources to repair the bridge, which has now been completed and put into use.

Mr. Luyen Xuan Hue - Chairman of Do Thanh Commune People's Committee said: "We have re-poured the entire concrete bridge surface and replaced the railing system to ensure safety. In addition, weeds at both ends of the bridge have been cleared, and cracks have been completely repaired."
Based on the actual situation on May 6, the bridge now has a new look. The bridge surface is flat, the railings are sturdy, and people can travel with peace of mind.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong, resident of Gia My hamlet, Do Thanh commune, shared: “Previously, the bridge was severely degraded, and people and vehicles fell into the river while crossing the bridge. Now the bridge has been repaired, making it much safer for people and students to travel, and everyone is excited.”
The timely repair of the degraded state of Ba Ba bridge not only contributes to ensuring traffic safety but also demonstrates the quick and effective response of local authorities to complaints from the press and people.
