After the karaoke bar fire, another fire broke out in Hanoi due to welding and cutting.
After the karaoke bar fire on Tran Thai Tong street, today (January 16), another fire broke out in Hanoi, the initial cause of which may also have been an electric spark from welding or cutting.
Authorities blocked off the scene of the fire. |
The fire broke out at around 11:30 a.m. on January 16 on the second floor of the Saigon Furniture store at 913 De La Thanh, Hanoi. According to local residents, the initial cause was welding and cutting by the house next door, sparks catching on the advertising sign.
The fire was quite large, but fortunately, at noon on January 16, the weather was calm and the fire police arrived on the scene in time, so the fire did not spread to nearby shops and houses.
Currently, the scene has been blocked off, traffic on De La Thanh Street has returned to normal and authorities are urgently investigating the cause.

Previously, on November 1, 2016, a fire caused by welding and cutting occurred at a karaoke bar on Tran Thai Tong Street, killing 13 people.
The cause was a welder (without a degree or certificate of practice) hired to work on the 2nd floor. While cutting the door hinge, the fire and welding scale flowed onto the floor and splashed onto the wall, causing a fire.
On November 12, 2016, the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute three suspects for violating fire prevention and fighting regulations.
