Sharing the warmth of Tet...

In these last days of the year, the staff of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department are always busy and bustling with preparations to present Tet gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and veteran revolutionaries. The first place we visited was Hamlet 5, Quynh Ngoc Commune (Quynh Luu District). Relatives and war invalid Nguyen Thai Binh welcomed us with the warm and simple hospitality of the local people.

On his dark, weathered face, even with a forced smile, he couldn't hide the suppressed pain of illness caused by chemical toxins that had infected his body and passed down to future generations. Veteran Nguyen Thai Binh emotionally said, "I am luckier than my comrades because I can return to my family and my homeland."

Now, although my mind is still sharp, my bones are worn out, and my remaining arm aches whenever the weather changes. Yet, being surrounded by this kindness today warms my heart and lessens the pain.”

In Hamlet 10, Quynh Giang Commune, we visited the family of Mr. Pham Doan (born in 1923), a veteran revolutionary. Mr. Doan is nearly 96 years old this year. For many years, he had rarely left his village. Yet yesterday, upon hearing that officials from the district and province were coming to give him gifts, he tossed and turned all night, waiting until morning to meet them and express his final wishes before passing away, as his relatives spoke with him. Sharing his thoughts with the members of the delegation, he proudly said: "The reason I've lived so well and so long is thanks to the immense encouragement and support from the community."

Many activities and actions have become part of the beautiful culture of the Vietnamese people. The harsh realities of life do not allow us to delay concrete and practical actions to express our gratitude and the traditional moral principle of "repaying kindness" to those who have sacrificed for the independence, freedom, and peaceful lives of the people. We also visited and presented Tet gifts to the officers and soldiers of the Dien Thanh Border Guard Post.

Here, Comrade Ho Phuc Hop acknowledged the achievements in protecting and maintaining the independence and sovereignty of the maritime region, and the excellent fulfillment of the assigned tasks of the outpost. He expressed his hope that the officers and soldiers of the outpost would continue to uphold the traditions of the armed forces, excellently complete their tasks, and coordinate with the police force to effectively combat and suppress crime, ensuring security and order during the Lunar New Year so that the people can celebrate the holiday peacefully and safely.

Also on this occasion, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Comrade Ho Phuc Hop presented the 70-Year Party Membership Badge to 32 Party members from Dien Chau and Quynh Luu districts; he emotionally acknowledged and thanked the Party members for their contributions and sacrifices to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. He also expressed his hope that the Party members receiving the badge would continue to raise their awareness and responsibility, uphold the pioneering and exemplary role of each Party member, set an example for younger Party members to follow, and contribute to building a cleaner and stronger Party, effectively leading the implementation of political tasks in the area.
