(Baonghean) - It has become a tradition that these last days of the year are warmer when gifts are delivered to families of policy beneficiaries and revolutionary veterans with sincere gratitude to those with meritorious services and their relatives, full of affection and the "remember the source of the water you drink" philosophy of those working in Propaganda...

During these last days of the year, the staff of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department are always busy and bustling with the atmosphere of preparing to give Tet gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and veteran revolutionaries. The first place we arrived at was Hamlet 5, Quynh Ngoc Commune (Quynh Luu). Relatives and sick soldier Nguyen Thai Binh welcomed us with the warmth and simplicity of the villagers.

On his dark face, even though he tried to smile, he still could not hide the pain of the disease caused by the toxic chemicals that had infected his body and passed on to the next generation. Disabled soldier Nguyen Thai Binh emotionally said: “I am luckier than my comrades because I can return to my family and my homeland.

Now, although my head is still clear, my bones are rotten, and my remaining arm aches every time the weather changes. However, today, living in this love, I feel my heart warm again, and the pain is lessened.

At hamlet 10, Quynh Giang commune, we visited the family of Mr. Pham Doan (born in 1923), a veteran revolutionary. This year, Mr. Doan is nearly 96 years old. For many years, he has never left the bamboo fences and alleys of the village. But yesterday, when he heard that the district and provincial officials had come to give him gifts, he tossed and turned all night, waiting until morning to meet him, to express his last wishes before closing his eyes, and to be talked to by his relatives. Confiding in the members of the delegation, he boasted: "The reason why I am healthy and have lived so long is thanks to the great encouragement of the community."

In Dien Chau district, we visited the family of policy beneficiary Le Van Hue in hamlet 5, Dien Hanh commune, whose 3 children and grandchildren were all infected with toxic chemicals from him. Uncle Hanh hurriedly led the guests into the house and could not contain his emotions. Although he could not talk much, what we witnessed, we, the later generations, could still somewhat feel his sacrifices and contributions to his homeland, country and his current family situation...

Also in Dien Chau district, we visited the Center for caring for martyrs' relatives, personally presented gifts and visited directly here, the emotional speech of comrade Ho Phuc Hop - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department was like a sincere gratitude: In recent years, although our economic conditions are still facing many difficulties, our Party and State have always paid attention, cared for and given much affection to the families of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and people with meritorious services.

Many activities and deeds have become cultural beauties of the Vietnamese people. The harshness of life does not allow us to delay in specific, practical actions to express gratitude and the traditional morality of "repaying gratitude" to those who have worked for the independence, freedom and peaceful life of the people. We also visited and presented Tet gifts to officers and soldiers of Dien Thanh Border Guard Station.

Here, comrade Ho Phuc Hop acknowledged the achievements in protecting and maintaining the independence and sovereignty of the sea, and excellently completing the assigned tasks of the station. He hoped that the officers and soldiers of the station would continue to promote the tradition of the armed forces to excellently complete their tasks, coordinate with the police force to do a good job in attacking and suppressing crimes, ensuring security and order during the Lunar New Year so that people can celebrate the New Year in peace and happiness.

Also on this occasion, on behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Ho Phuc Hop awarded the 70-year Party badge to 32 party members of Dien Chau and Quynh Luu districts; moved to acknowledge and thank the dedication and sacrifice of the party members, who have made many contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. At the same time, he hoped that the party members who received the Party badge would continue to raise their awareness and responsibility, promote the exemplary pioneering role of each party member, set an example for young party members to follow, contribute to the task of building an increasingly clean and strong Party, and effectively lead the implementation of political tasks in the area.
