There will be a 'Nghe An derby' in V.League 2020.

Before the match, Hong Linh Ha Tinh (HLHT) had 44 points, 8 points ahead of second-placed Pho Hien with only 3 matches remaining in the National First Division. Therefore, if they win their match against XM Fico Tay Ninh in the 20th round, HLHT will secure promotion to the V.League two rounds early.

Given the importance of the match, it's understandable that Coach Pham Minh Duc's players quickly pushed forward in attack and took control of the game from the opening minutes. Throughout the first half, almost all the dangerous opportunities belonged to the home team, but the score remained unchanged until the final minutes of the match.

From a free-kick situation more than 20 meters from the goal, Le Xuan Tu unleashed a powerful shot that hit the inside of the crossbar and flew into the net of Tay Ninh, opening the scoring of the match.

Entering the second half with a lead, the visiting team from the Southeast region created several attacking opportunities in an attempt to equalize, but the HLHT defense played a focused game to maintain the 1-0 score until the referee blew the final whistle.

This result gives HLHT 47 points, officially qualifying them for the V.League 2020 season two rounds early.

From next season, Nghe An province will have two teams competing in Vietnam's top league, and at least two "Nghe An derby" matches will take place, fulfilling the long-awaited wish of Nghe An football fans.
