(Baonghean.vn) - This was the content of the exchange between the leaders of Nghe An and Hua Phan provinces during the working visit of the Hua Phan provincial leader to extend New Year greetings to the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province on the morning of January 18th.

On the morning of January 18th, a delegation from Hua Phan province, led by Comrade Van-xay Pheng-summa, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Secretary and Governor of Hua Phan province, visited and extended New Year greetings to Nghe An province.

Welcoming the delegation were comrades Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, Comrade Van-xay Pheng-summa provided information on the socio-economic situation of Hua Phan province in 2016 and the cooperation between Nghe An province and Hua Phan province.

Hua Phan province has 133 km of border with Nghe An province, including the Thong Thu (Que Phong) - Nam Tay (Hua Phan) border gate. Over the years, friendly cooperation, especially between Nghe An province and Laos in general, and between Nghe An and Hua Phan provinces in particular, has been strong in key areas such as economy and trade, education, culture, transportation, and border consular affairs.

On the occasion of the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year, on behalf of the Party Committee, government, and people of Hua Phan province, Comrade Van-xay Pheng-summa, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary and Governor of Hua Phan province, sends best wishes to the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An province for a new year of peace, prosperity, and comprehensive achievements.

Welcoming the delegation from Hua Phan province to visit and extend New Year greetings to Nghe An province, the Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh informed them about the socio-economic development of Nghe An province in 2016 across various fields. The Provincial Party Secretary of Nghe An extended his best wishes to the Party Committee, government, and people of Hua Phan province for a new year filled with health, happiness, and success.

In particular, the two sides spent time discussing their desire to invest in a direct road connecting the two provinces through the Thong Thu border gate (Que Phong) in the future. The current difficulty for the two provinces is the lack of a road connecting Nghe An and Hua Phan, requiring travel through Thanh Hoa province.

During the meeting, the leaders of the two provinces also discussed efforts to prevent unauthorized migration among the population and to implement the policies of the two Parties and the two states of Vietnam and Laos. Looking ahead, the two provinces hope to further strengthen cooperation in all fields, and continue to cooperate, support, and promote the socio-economic development of both localities.
