Tactical discipline – the cornerstone in knockout matches.
The message of "tactical discipline" is paramount in the semi-final context. In the knockout stage, every small detail can shift the balance. Maintaining team structure, minimizing individual errors, and preserving focus throughout the 90 minutes – even extra time – are crucial requirements. This is also how to translate mental advantage into effectiveness on the field, helping the team maintain rhythm and control decisive moments.
Semifinal format and the pressure of mental fortitude
According to the SEA Games 33 regulations, the semi-finals will be played in a knockout format. If tied after 90 minutes, the two teams will play extra time and may decide the winner through a penalty shootout.
