(Baonghean.vn) - At approximately 3 PM on August 13th, in Dien Lam commune (Quy Chau district), heavy rain accompanied by lightning damaged the electrical systems and televisions of many households in Chao village.

Mr. Truong Van Phuong, a resident of Chao village, said: "Around 3:30 PM, a thunderstorm arrived. Ten minutes later, there was a loud explosion. The electrical wires and sockets in the house caught smoke and sparks, and all the electrical equipment caught fire. Fortunately, there was no fire."

Besides his family, three other families also suffered damage from the lightning strike.

Apparently, these households all forgot to unplug their electrical appliances from the power source.
