SHB Da Nang came from behind to defeat SLNA but still have to play in the play-off.
On the afternoon of June 22nd, at Tam Ky Stadium, SHB Da Nang staged a dramatic comeback to win 2-1 against Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) in the 26th round of the V.League 2024/2025. However, this result was not enough to secure direct relegation survival for the team, forcing them to enter the play-off match.

Previously, the unexpected victory against HAGL in round 25 had helpedLam River, Nghe AnHaving secured their survival in the league early, the final match against SHB Da Nang became easier than expected. With their objective accomplished, it's understandable that the Nghe An team didn't field their strongest lineup, especially with an important National Cup semi-final against Becamex Binh Duong ahead.
Conversely, SHB Da Nang entered the match with great determination. If they secured all three points and Quang Nam lost to HAGL, they would avoid relegation without needing a play-off. Coach Le Huynh Duc's team quickly pushed forward after the opening whistle.
In the 3rd minute, Van Long nearly opened the scoring with a header from a tight angle, but SLNA's young goalkeeper Van Binh made a spectacular save. Just 4 minutes later, Van Binh continued to show impressive form by saving a penalty from Dinh Duy, after Khac Luong handled the ball in the penalty area.
Throughout the first half, Da Nang completely dominated the game, creating numerous dangerous opportunities but failing to convert them into goals. SLNA mainly played defensively and only had one notable counter-attack in the 29th minute, when Olaha sprinted to receive a long pass from Quang Tu, but his shot went over the crossbar.
The first half ended 0-0, despite the home team dominating possession and creating more chances.
In the second half, Da Nang's pressure intensified. In less than 30 minutes, they hit the crossbar and post four times. Van Hung, Cong Nhat, and other strikers in orange jerseys repeatedly tried their luck but were unsuccessful. The climax came in the 58th minute, when a powerful shot from a home team player hit goalkeeper Van Binh's hand and bounced off the crossbar.

While the spectators were still lamenting the missed opportunities, the home team unexpectedly conceded a goal. In the 65th minute, Xuan Dai broke down the left wing and delivered a perfect cross for Kuku to tap the ball in from close range, opening the scoring for SLNA.
Trailing behind, the pressure mounted on the Da Nang players. However, they staged a strong comeback in the final minutes. In the 80th minute, from a set piece on the left wing, an SLNA defender, in an attempt to clear the ball, inadvertently headed it into his own net, gifting the home team at Tam Ky Stadium an equalizer.
Less than 5 minutes later, Minh Quang raced down the wing and decisively finished with his left foot from a tight angle, securing a dramatic 2-1 victory for SHB Da Nang.
Despite securing all three points and finishing the season with 25 points, SHB Da Nang still trailed Quang Nam by just one point, accepting a 13th place finish overall. They will have to enter a crucial play-off match against Binh Phuoc FC - the runner-up in the First Division - to secure their place in the V.League next season.
Meanwhile, Binh Dinh Club was officially relegated to the First Division after finishing last in the table with only 23 points.
