| Mercedes is one of the pioneers in developing self-driving cars. Recently, they developed the Future Bus model, which is considered the future of public transport. The car successfully traveled a distance of 19 km from Schiphol Airport to Haarlem (Amsterdam). This journey is impressive because the route has many traffic lights and tunnels. |

| With the Highway Pilot system, buses can drive themselves, recognize traffic lights, and pass through tunnels. They can also recognize pedestrians and cyclists. |

| Future buses are programmed to navigate into stops with incredible precision. The City Pilot system allows buses to pull up and stay within 10cm of the curb, making it easy for passengers to get in and out. |

| Currently, the Mercedes Future Bus has a top speed of 70 km/h and is programmed to operate only in bus lanes. This makes the system easy to navigate because traffic is less complex. |

| To perform its driving duties, the bus uses a system of cameras, radar sensors and GPS. Mercedes claims the Future Bus is more fuel-efficient than a city bus because the City Pilot system always brakes, accelerates and turns in the most optimal way. |

| The experience inside the futuristic bus is unlike any other. Mercedes has designed the Future Bus interior to resemble a living room at home. The bus is equipped with Wi-Fi and two 43-inch screens located on the dashboard, displaying routes, news, and other information. |

| The interior of the bus is essentially divided into three zones. One zone is for those in a hurry. The second zone is for those looking for more information about the route. The third zone is for those who stay in the bus for a longer period of time. |
