Winning the Third Prize of the Kite Nghe An Start-up Competition in 2023 and the Development Potential Prize of the Green Start-up Competition in 2023, student Dao Xuan Lap (born in 1999) - Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical College is one of the individuals with many remarkable achievements while still in school.

Lap is one of four outstanding students from Nghe An who attended the January Star Award Ceremony 2023 organized by the Vietnam Student Association on January 7. This is a noble award of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, annually reviewed for students who are excellent in studying, training and participating in the Youth Union - Association movement.
Standing out among the representatives of Nghe An, Dao Xuan Lap has many special features of a Gen Z student, which is the "difference" in thinking and learning.

Few people know that Dao Xuan Lap is a soldier. He participated in military service for two years 2019 - 2021. After being discharged from the army, he decided to continue on the academic path to promote his strengths. Becoming a student of the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical College, with solid skills, he boldly participated and implemented many provincial and regional start-up projects.

Among them, the startup project from bamboo, reed, and familiar materials in Nghe An named Hippo Steam has created many impressions.

In particular, although he is an engineering student, Dao Xuan Lap is always interested in political theory subjects, which is why he registered to participate in the National Olympic Competition on Marxist-Leninist Science and Ho Chi Minh Thought "Light to the Way" and won the Encouragement Prize at the provincial level.

Lap believes that young people need to improve their political awareness and cultivate revolutionary ideals to stand firm in the new situation. With these efforts, Lap has fulfilled his role as leader of the Youth Union movement, maintaining his excellent academic and training achievements over the years.
At Vinh Medical University, the 6th year student of class 18YD, majoring in General Medicine - Nguyen Duy Thanh (born in 2000) is also a bright spot of the province's student force. Thanh was admitted to the Party in 2022, achieved the title of 5 Good Students, the title of January Star in 2022, 2023 with many years of maintaining Excellent academic performance, excellent training scores...

I have donated blood 8 times and actively participated in charity activities such as providing health check-ups for people in mountainous areas and consulting for people infected with Covid-19...

Currently, Duy Thanh is a member of the Executive Committee of the School Youth Union and also holds the position of Secretary of the General Practitioners Union. He is the leader in the activities of the Union as well as the School Youth Union.
It can be said that the "January Stars" such as Nguyen Duy Thanh and Dao Xuan Lap are increasingly making a clear mark in the Association's work and student movement in Nghe An.

Sharing about this content, comrade Tran Linh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Student Association said that Nghe An currently has 28,421 students. In recent times, the Association's work and the student movement in Nghe An province have developed comprehensively. The "5 Good Students" movement has truly been an ideal environment for students to strive, practice, contribute and mature. During the term, the whole province had 224 students achieving the title of "5 Good Students" at the provincial level; 770 students achieving the title of "5 Good Students" at the school level.

Creative activities and scientific research among students have had positive changes towards linking with practice and real needs. Over the past 5 years, there have been 2,438 scientific research topics for students at faculty level, 452 topics at school level and 20 research topics for students at provincial and regional levels.

The Association's facilities focus on maintaining and developing scholarship funds, awarding more than 5 billion VND to support more than 5,000 students who have overcome difficulties, to encourage and motivate students to strive in their studies.

For students, the movements "3 Good Students" (good ethics, good study, good physical strength), "3 Practice Students" (practice ethics, style; improve knowledge, practice skills; practice professional skills and attitudes) have been widely implemented.

In 2023, the Provincial Youth Union honored 191 students who achieved the title of "3 Good Students, 3 Well-Trained Students" at the provincial level. In addition, there are hundreds of students who achieved this title at the grassroots level, which are bright spots in many localities.

Fundamental and sustainable orientations

Concerned about the Association's work and the student movement of the province, at the 4th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Student Association, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh, in addition to acknowledging the achievements, also frankly pointed out the remaining limitations.

According to comrade Le Hong Vinh, the content, method and effectiveness of the Association's education for students in the face of negative phenomena and social evils are not clear; A part of students have not yet determined the right goals and motivations for studying, and lack the will to improve. From there, it leads to deviations in lifestyle, social evils, and is easily drawn into bad purposes, even breaking the law. This situation is the responsibility of the Student Association at all levels.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in the coming time, Nghe An province will concentrate all resources to effectively implement the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and Resolution 39 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An to 2030, with a vision to 2045. This requires high demands and great efforts from all levels, sectors, and people, including the Student Association and its members.

Nghe An is currently one of the destinations of major domestic and international investors, creating a huge demand for high-quality, technical human resources. Therefore, the Student Association at all levels needs to pay special attention to accompanying and supporting students to improve their academic level, vocational training, professional skills, labor skills, and industrial style to be ready to serve the development process of the province, creating high-quality human resources for the province.

To effectively implement movements, there must be a strong Student Union. To build a strong Student Union, there must be Union officers who are “equal” to the task. Each Student Union officer must constantly strive to improve their qualifications, professional skills, and maintain their image, character, and ethics.

Placing expectations on Nghe An students, comrade Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association emphasized: The most important thing is to optimize the role of students as the main subject in the Association's activities.

At the same time, focus on increasing the application of technology and digital transformation in the student movement. Digital transformation does not stop at the step of effectively using technology products but needs to create an environment for students to participate in building, programming and developing digital tools to serve the work of the Association in particular and to solve economic and social problems in general.

Only then can students equip themselves with the necessary tools to promote their value in the new situation.
