(Baonghean.vn) - Carrying out a volunteer campaign in Pha Danh commune (Ky Son), the Vinh University volunteer student team has carried out many activities of practical significance for the locality.

Pha Danh Commune has 10 villages, which are home to 3 ethnic groups: Thai, Kho Mu, Kinh. Due to the complex mountainous terrain, transportation and economic life of the people here are still difficult.

Helping people on this occasion are 19 students from the Faculty of History and Faculty of Political Education, Vinh University, carrying out tasks in the locality for 3 weeks from July 3 to 21.

In recent days, the volunteer student team has coordinated with the youth union and local people to cross the forest and clear a path from the commune center to Xop Nhuc village - the farthest village of Pha Danh commune.

Although the working conditions were quite difficult, having to travel nearly 10 km, climb slopes, cross Pha Danh mountain, dig trees, move rocks with many dangers such as falling rocks, bee stings, slipping and falling, but with the spirit of youth, the volunteer team coordinated well with the locality to complete the task.

After many days of working together, eating "simple meals, spreading leaves as trays" with the youth union branches of Pha Danh commune and the people of Xop Nhuc and Keo Luc 1 villages in the middle of the forest, the new road from the center to Xop Nhuc village, nearly 7 km long, was completed.

Previously, people in this village had to “go up the mountain and down the cave” to get to the center, but now there is a mountain road that can be traveled by motorbike. The great desire of the people of Xop Nhuc has come true.

Sharing the joy with the people, Tran Duc Anh - a student of class 56A, Faculty of Political Education said: "Building the road to Xop Nhuc village was the most difficult jungle journey for me so far. Although it was tiring and hard, it was fun. These working days not only helped the people have a new road to travel, but also helped us become more mature in our will and determination."

Mr. Luong Van Tac, Secretary of Pha Danh Commune Youth Union, commented: “It can be said that, up to now, this is one of the volunteer teams that has worked the hardest in the locality, but has brought the most practical meanings. Local officials as well as villagers welcome the team's working spirit, acknowledge their efforts and enthusiasm in helping people overcome difficulties, creating a new atmosphere for the village”./.
