(Baonghean.vn) - SLNA could have beaten Hanoi FC by a higher score if the visiting team's strikers had successfully converted their scoring opportunities...

The 1-0 victory not only marked SLNA's first win against the capital city team in the V.League after an 8-year wait, but also propelled coach Ngo Quang Truong's team to the top of the V.League 2020 standings with 11 points (3 wins and 2 draws).

This was an important and meaningful victory for the team from Nghe An province.

SLNA could have beaten Hanoi FC by a higher margin if their strikers had capitalized on their clear scoring opportunities. From Ho Tuan Tai, Phan Van Duc, Peter Onyekachi, Gustavo Santos to substitute Tran Ngoc Anh, all missed their shots or failed to beat the excellent goalkeeper Nguyen Van Cong.

Speaking after the match, coach Ngo Quang Truong said: "We had many opportunities but failed to capitalize on them. This is a problem for SLNA, not just in this one match."

Clearly, the lack of effectiveness in finishing from Ho Tuan Tai and his teammates is what coach Ngo Quang Truong is most dissatisfied with. It seems that, in order to secure a high position this season, the SLNA coaching staff needs to quickly help the team's strikers regain their accuracy in finishing.

SLNA is currently flying high thanks to the excellence of its defense and the brilliant moments of individual players, such as Phan Văn Đức and Đặng Văn Lắm. However, in the long run, the team from Nghệ An cannot rely solely on these factors. Don't forget, only 5 rounds of the first phase of V.League 2020 have been played so far.

While the victory against Hanoi FC was impressive and significant, it still hasn't given the SLNA coaching staff and fans in Nghe An province complete peace of mind, given the team's weak attack. Hopefully, this won't be a persistent problem for Peter Onyekachi and his teammates in the 2020 season.
