SLNA tests new lineup

(Baonghean.vn) - In preparation for the new 2016 season, SLNA has begun a campaign to recruit foreign players and test new positions in the team's lineup.

With the addition of a number of young players such as Xuan Manh, Phu Nguyen, Viet Nguyen, Van Duc, Xuan Toan, Van Dai..., the SLNA Club management plans to participate in friendly training tournaments to test the new lineup.

The opening match of these friendly tournaments was against FLC Thanh Hoa at Vinh Stadium on December 23rd. In this match, head coach Ngo Quang Truong fielded young players who had recently been called up to the first team. Among these new players, young strikers Van Duc, Viet Nguyen, Van Khanh... shone with some impressive goals against FLC Thanh Hoa. SLNA also introduced five foreign players on trial, but their quality was not yet as expected.

Young striker Viet Nguyen (31) was called up for the first time to try out for SLNA's first team and scored in the recent match against FLC Thanh Hoa.

SLNA has yet to find a suitable foreign player for the new season.

Coach Quang Truong stated that from January 10th to 23rd, 2016, SLNA will continue to participate in the FLC Thanh Hoa 2016 friendly tournament. This tournament will feature teams such as SLNA, HN T&T, Hai Phong, Than Quang Ninh, Hanoi FC, and host team FLC Thanh Hoa. At this tournament, SLNA will continue to experiment with new positions in their lineup and try out foreign players. To avoid other teams "snatching" players like in previous seasons, information about the foreign players being tried out this time has not yet been revealed by SLNA. The priority for the SLNA coaching staff this season is to find two foreign strikers.
