Afraid of being attacked, they bought guns online for self-defense?
Son bought a Colt pistol online and was arrested by the police on his way home.
On March 4th, the Criminal Police Department (Hai Phong City Police) announced that they are temporarily detaining Truong Cong Son, born in 1988, residing in Dang Lam ward, Hai An district, for investigation into the illegal possession of military weapons.
Earlier, at 9 PM on March 1st, a task force from Team 8 (Criminal Police Department) patrolling An Da Street, Ngo Quyen District, spotted a young man sitting on the back of a motorbike acting suspiciously. When the task force requested him to stop and searched the passenger, identified as Truong Cong Son, they discovered and seized a Colt-type pistol and 20 rounds of ammunition.

At the police station, Son confessed that due to a conflict with another group of individuals and fearing being assaulted by them, he sought to buy guns and ammunition online for self-defense.
However, after purchasing the gun and on his way home, Son was arrested by the police.
