While the number of infections and deaths from Covid-19 in China has not been updated, the epidemic situation in other countries is complicated.

As of 8:30 a.m. on February 24, according to Worldometers, the number of Covid-19 infections in mainland China increased by 11, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 76,947. Meanwhile, the number of deaths here is 2, bringing the total number of deaths from the Covid-19 epidemic to 2,444. However, up to this point, the Chinese health authorities have not yet announced updated data.

Meanwhile, yesterday (February 23), Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that the acute pneumonia epidemic caused by Covid-19 is a major public health emergency "with the fastest spreading speed, widest range of infection, and most difficult to prevent and control" in China since its founding in 1949 and acknowledged that this is "a crisis, a major test" for the country.

Although the number of infections and deaths in China has been on a downward trend, the Covid-19 epidemic outside China is still complicated. In South Korea, as of the morning of February 24, according to Yonhap, there were 161 more infections, bringing the total number of infections in this country to 763 in just a few days. The total number of infections in Italy also increased from 3 to 132 over the weekend, while the Iranian Ministry of Health confirmed that the country had 43 Covid-19 infections with 8 deaths. Lebanon and Israel also recorded their first infections.
