While the number of infections and deaths from Covid-19 in China remains unupdated, the situation in other countries is becoming increasingly complex.

As of 8:30 AM on February 24th, according to Worldometers, mainland China reported 11 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of infections to 76,947. Meanwhile, the number of deaths was 2, raising the total death toll from Covid-19 to 2,444. However, Chinese health authorities have not yet released updated figures.

Meanwhile, yesterday (February 23), Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that the COVID-19 pneumonia outbreak is a major public health emergency that is "the fastest-spreading, most widespread, and most difficult to contain and control" in China since its founding in 1949, and acknowledged it as "a crisis, a great test" for the country.

Although the number of infections and deaths in China is trending downward, the Covid-19 outbreak outside of China is becoming more complex. In South Korea, as of the morning of February 24th, according to Yonhap, there were 161 new cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 763 in just a few days. The total number of infections in Italy also increased from 3 to 132 last weekend, while the Iranian Ministry of Health confirmed 43 cases of Covid-19 with 8 deaths. Lebanon and Israel also reported their first cases.
