The Department of Industry and Trade supports students in accessing the digital economy.
On the afternoon of May 22nd, at Vinh University, the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) and the School of Economics – Vinh University, organized a training conference on the topic: “Students and E-commerce in the Digital Age”.
This is one of the key activities in a series of programs aimed at effectively implementing Plan No. 400/KH-UBND dated July 21, 2021, of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on the development of e-commerce in the province during the 2021-2025 period.
With a spirit of innovation, flexibility, and practical application, the program aims to cultivate a young workforce capable of applying technology and digital business in the context of the ongoing digital transformation.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Quang Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized: “We are living in an era where e-commerce is no longer an option, but an inevitable trend. Training digital skills and e-commerce mindset for students is a strategic task, creating a foundation of high-quality human resources to serve the development of the digital economy of Nghe An province. Today's conference is clear evidence of the tripartite cooperation spirit: State - School - Enterprise in digital transformation.”
The conference attracted the interest and participation of nearly 200 students from the economics, information technology, and tourism departments of Vinh University. Beyond theoretical training, the program also provided practical experience through sharing from leading experts and businesses operating effectively on digital platforms.

In the specialized training sessions, students were introduced to many highly practical topics such as: The importance of digital branding in the Internet era and digital transformation - presented by a representative from the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC); Omnichannel sales strategy - from theory to practice, shared by a representative from the SAPO platform; Business through social media and livestream sales - presented by Meta Ecom; Application of artificial intelligence (AI) in e-commerce - introduced by IVIET; and finally, trends in making money from digital platforms...

Alongside the training activities, the lively discussions and mini-games provided opportunities for direct interaction between students and experts, opening up clearer career paths for young people.
Organizing this training conference not only contributes to concretizing Nghe An province's digital transformation policy but also affirms the increasingly prominent role of e-commerce in socio-economic life. Through close coordination between the Department of Industry and Trade, schools, and businesses, Nghe An is leading the way in building a training model linked to practical experience, keeping pace with new business trends, and making e-commerce a lever for sustainable development.
Also on this occasion, the Vietnam E-commerce Association awarded the VecomNet Network Membership Certificate to the School of Economics, Vinh University. VecomNet is a network of officially established e-commerce training institutions with the participation of higher education institutions nationwide.
