(Baonghean.vn) - On February 3, a working delegation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province led by Director Hoang Nghia Hieu inspected the spring crop production situation and the H5N1 epidemic prevention in Dien Chau and Yen Thanh.

The working group inspected, directed the prevention and control of the H5N1 outbreak in Dien Chau. Previously, the flock of ducks belonging to Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung's family in Hamlet 5, Dien Loc Commune, Dien Chau District suddenly fell ill and died en masse for unknown reasons.

Mr. Hung reported the incident to the authorities. Dien Chau Veterinary Station took samples for testing, and the results were positive for H5N1. Immediately, Mr. Hung's entire flock of ducks was urgently mobilized to be destroyed, including nearly 500 meat ducks and laying ducks.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Dien Chau district: To prevent the spread of the epidemic, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has directed the Department of Animal Health of Nghe An province to provide 60 liters of Benkocil chemicals and lime powder, spray disinfectants and 20,000 doses of vaccine to vaccinate all poultry in Dien Loc commune, Dien Chau district. In addition, relevant forces are also directed to closely monitor the development of the epidemic and the health status of poultry flocks in the district.

Regarding the spring rice area of ​​9,210 hectares, 3,000 hectares were planted before Tet, and the remaining area was planted after Tet, finishing on schedule before February 10. The area of ​​main crops, mainly peanuts, is still slow to sow, only reaching 3,000/4,000 hectares.

The working group inspected the irrigation water service at Bac Nghe An Irrigation Company Limited. Bac Irrigation Company provides irrigation water for the spring crop with an area of ​​more than 30,000 hectares for 5 key rice districts including Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, and Hoang Mai town.

The unit is arranging workers to take turns on duty during Tet holiday, ensuring water for spring irrigation. At the same time, it is strengthening water and construction management before, during and after Tet holiday, regularly checking key projects, promptly operating water sources, and handling incidents.

Visit the model of fattening more than 100 buffalo and cows of Mr. Thai Huu Loc's family in Vien Thanh commune imported from Thailand and Australia.

The working group also inspected the spring crop production progress of Yen Thanh district, the situation of rice pests and diseases, and checked the progress of vegetation treatment and spring forest planting at Yen Thanh Protective Forest Management Board. They visited the model of raising fattened buffalo and cows of more than 100 of Mr. Thai Huu Loc's family in Vien Thanh commune, which were imported from Thailand, Australia, and Cambodia.

After checking the production situation, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu requested Dien Chau district to focus and direct to suppress the outbreak as soon as possible, not to let the epidemic spread widely. Continue to count the number of vaccinated poultry. Direct the Veterinary Station to coordinate with local authorities at commune, ward and town levels to strengthen monitoring, quickly detect cases of sick poultry to handle the outbreak on a small scale.
