The Nghe An Department of Health and the Nghe An Social Insurance Agency signed a cooperation agreement to implement health insurance policies and laws.

On the afternoon of December 26th, the Nghe An Department of Health and Social Insurance held a conference to sign the Regulations on Coordination in Implementing Health Insurance Policies and Laws in Nghe An Province for the period 2026-2030 and to sign the Health Insurance Examination and Treatment Contract for 2026.

Attending the conference were: Ms. Le Thi Hoai Chung – Director of the Nghe An Department of Health; Mr. Hoang Van Minh – Director of the Nghe An Social Insurance; and leaders of medical examination and treatment units in the province.

On May 16, 2023, the Nghe An Department of Health and the Nghe An Social Insurance Agency signed Coordination Regulation No. 926/LN-YT-BHXH. Implementing this regulation, in 2024-2025, the inter-agency collaboration between the Health and Social Insurance agencies of Nghe An province led and directed the implementation of health insurance policies in the province in accordance with regulations; ensuring the rights of health insurance participants; improving the quality of patient care; and effectively managing and utilizing the health insurance fund throughout the province.

Besides the achievements, there are still some shortcomings and limitations, such as the increasing cost of medical examination and treatment that needs to be controlled, and difficulties in organizing and implementing health insurance contracts... These shortcomings and difficulties pose issues that require the two sectors to continue strengthening coordination in leadership, direction, and resolution.

At the conference, delegates focused on exchanging, discussing, and analyzing the achievements as well as debating solutions to minimize limitations and weaknesses in order to ensure the best interests of patients with health insurance cards and to best manage the allocated budget for health insurance medical examination and treatment expenses in the coming years.

Leaders of the Nghe An Department of Health and the Nghe An Social Insurance Agency signed a cooperation agreement on the implementation of health insurance policies and laws in Nghe An province for the period 2026-2030. The cooperation agreement consists of 3 chapters and 9 articles, clearly defining the content and responsibilities of the cooperation between the two sectors.

The areas of cooperation include: coordinating in proposing and recommending the development, amendment, and implementation of policies and laws on health insurance; organizing the implementation of the health insurance system; disseminating information on health insurance policies and laws; inspecting, handling violations, and resolving complaints and denunciations related to health insurance; and evaluating and summarizing activities in the field of health insurance.

Also at the conference, the Nghe An Social Insurance agency signed contracts for medical examination and treatment under health insurance for 2026 with medical facilities in the province.
