Shocking: Car prices 'drop' up to 300 million VND/month
Many car models of domestically assembled companies have "dropped" by an average of 50 - 100 million VND, even up to over 300 million VND/car/month, making buyers "disappointed".
After a price reduction of nearly 170 million VND in early August, the Honda CR-V SUV line continued to be adjusted down sharply in early September. Accordingly, if the CR-V 2.0 AT model was reduced to 898 million VND in early August, then in early September, dealers continued to reduce it to 788 million VND (an additional 110 million VND reduction). Similarly, the CR-V 2.4 AT model was reduced to 160 million VND (from 988 million VND in early August to 828 million VND in early September) and the CR-V 2.4 AT TG was reduced by 130 million VND (from 1,028 million VND in early August to 898 million VND in September).
Thus, within just 1 month, the high-end CR-V 2.4 AT TG version has decreased by 280 million VND, the CR-V 2.4 AT version has decreased by 330 million VND and the CR-V 2.0 AT version has decreased by 220 million VND.

Competing with other car brands in the same segment, Honda CR-V has had a "shocking" price reduction in just 1 month. |
Before the Honda CR-V, its direct competitor, the Mazda CX-5, also saw a sharp price drop to under VND800 million. The lowest version of the Mazda CX-5 2.0L is priced at dealers at only VND790 million, while the highest version is around VND900 million, a decrease of about VND200 million/car compared to the beginning of August.
In the same segment, Nissan X-Trail also had its price reduced twice at the beginning and end of August with a reduction of 80-90 million VND (including additional accessories) for 3 versions: Nissan X-Trail 2.5 SV, Nissan X-Trail 2.0 SL and Nissan X-Trail 2.0.
Meanwhile, Toyota's 7-seat SUV Fortuner - a model that has always been popular and has never been discounted - has also been discounted by dealers by 20-25 million VND/car. Accordingly, the Fortuner 2.4G 4x2 model with a listed price of 981 million VND has been reduced by dealers to 956 million VND (a reduction of 25 million VND), Fortuner 2.7V 4x2 is reduced by 20 million VND (listed price 1.149 billion VND, dealer price 1.129 billion VND) and Fortuner 2.7V 4x4 is reduced by 20 million VND (listed price 1.308 billion VND, dealer price 1.288 billion VND).

The always popular and never discounted Fortuner model has also started to discount. |
Not only that, two other Toyota models, Inova and Vios, also announced further price reductions. Accordingly, customers who buy Toyota Vios and Innova cars from September 1 to October 31 will receive a registration tax support package equivalent to VND30 million/Vios car and VND15 million/Innova car.
Meanwhile, Chevrolet has just announced a further discount of up to 80 million VND when buying a car from September 1 to September 30. Accordingly, Chevrolet Aveo is reduced by 30 million VND, Chevrolet Cruze is reduced by 60-70 million VND, Chevrolet Orlando is reduced by 15 million VND, Chevrolet Captiva Revv is reduced by 44 million VND, Chevrolet Colorado is reduced by 20-80 million VND (depending on the version). Thus, within just 1 month, most cars have "lost" from 50-150 million VND/car.
It is known that due to the slow sales of cars and the stagnant capital, dealers have no choice but to sell at a loss to quickly recover capital. Some dealers are even willing to lower the price by about 15-20 million VND/car, accepting to sell at break-even to boost sales.
