(Baonghean.vn) - In 2021, despite having to implement strict social distancing, widespread quarantine, and lockdowns in red zones due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Vinh City made its utmost efforts to complete all tasks and fulfill its role as the political and economic center of the province.
Focus on preventing and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic.
2021 was a special year for Vinh city, as it was severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, causing trade, tourism services, and many other production and business activities to be disrupted for many months.
The prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic was prioritized according to directives from higher authorities and adapted to the practical requirements of each specific situation. Simultaneously, restoring production and business was considered a top priority, with the decisive involvement of Party committees, government authorities, and the entire political system, in high public support. After days of urgent and decisive pandemic control, the city has stabilized its life in accordance with Government Resolution 128 on "safely adapting, flexibly controlling, and effectively managing the Covid-19 pandemic." Throughout the year, the city achieved many positive results in various fields.
Comrade Tran Ngoc Tu - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, said: Last year, in addition to successfully directing the organization of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the election of deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, the city actively and proactively implemented tasks related to mobilizing resources for development.Vinh CitySubmitted to the Provincial People's Council for approval and promulgation a Resolution stipulating a number of specific mechanisms and policies on finance and budget to support socio-economic development of Vinh City in the period 2021-2025; resolving difficulties and obstacles to accelerate the progress of the project "Priority Infrastructure and Urban Development Adapting to Climate Change in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, World Bank loan"; submitted to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee for promulgation Resolution No. 01-NQ/Th.U dated February 26, 2021 on strengthening urban beautification and building technical infrastructure systems associated with mobilizing resources in the period 2021-2025.

Some key achievements include: The city's budget revenue in 2021 was quite high: Total budget revenue is estimated at 2,503.2 billion VND. The city has launched and put into operation a pilot Smart City Operations Center in Vinh.
The political security situation and social order and safety have been maintained, and the people have complied well with the State's regulations in the work of epidemic prevention and control. Social welfare policies have been ensured. In addition, the focus has been on directing and advising the Provincial People's Council and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to issue 4 Resolutions and 2 Directives; developing and issuing 5 Projects and 10 Plans in accordance with the Resolution of the 24th City Party Congress…
"Restarting" many investment projects.
Despite the current pandemic still significantly impacting development and all aspects of life, Vinh City is clearly bustling with numerous investment projects, especially real estate projects in the suburbs. Production, business activities, and many projects are restarting. The southern and eastern areas are experiencing a surge in construction activity, including land leveling for large real estate projects, and projects to repair and prevent flooding.
To summarize, from 2019 to the present, Vinh City has had 11 large-scale real estate projects covering more than 10,000 hectares, with a total investment of over 4 billion USD, mainly consisting of apartment buildings, townhouses, land plots, entertainment facilities, etc., with strong investors and leading brands such as...VingroupEcopark, T&T, Eurowindow, Tecco…; especially after the success of the Conference on implementing Notice No. 55-TB/TW dated April 20, 2019 of the Politburo on the development of Vinh City, the field of attracting investment and implementing projects in the city has been truly vibrant.

Many large projects are worth mentioning, such as: Vingroup's Quang Trung Zone B construction project in Quang Trung ward, Vinh City, with a total investment of VND 2,500 billion, including a 23-story resettlement building and a 33-story 5-star hotel; Vinh Riverside urban area project by Saigon - Trung Do Vinh Joint Stock Company; T&T Victoria Nghe An project opposite Eurowindow tower by T&T Urban and Industrial Park Development Company Limited (T&T Land); and Vinpearl Cua Hoi resort project, which is continuing with phase 2. In addition, there are new real estate projects approved by the Provincial People's Committee that promise to increase the supply of urban housing and prime land.
In addition to real estate projects in the city, Nghe An province has also planned to invest in many infrastructure projects in Vinh.

In the coming period, projects such as upgrading and expanding National Highway 46 (Vinh - Kim Lien, Nam Dan section), upgrading phase 2 of Provincial Road 535 (Vinh - Cua Hoi road), the Vinh Airport - Muong Thanh Phuong Dong Hotel road, and phase 2 of the Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard project with a length of 11.2 km… will help Vinh city expand its space, increase land availability, and further enhance its attractiveness to investors. These are also important factors in concretizing the plan to develop Vinh city into an economic and cultural center of the North Central region by 2023.
