From a technical perspective, experts at Vietcombank Securities Company believe that the VN-Index closing the trading session on March 26th with a red candlestick indicates that sellers are regaining dominance after the market had recorded two recovery sessions from the short-term bottom of 1,600 points.
On the daily chart, the RSI indicator is trending slightly downward, but the MACD indicator is still trending upwards, and the closing index is close to but has not fallen below the 200-day moving average (equivalent to 1,635). Therefore, it is likely that there will be periods of consolidation and volatility to test supply and demand in the 1,630 - 1,650 point range in the next session.
On the hourly chart, the indicators are generally moving sideways or slightly upward. Therefore, there is a high probability that sideways consolidation will continue in the next session, and the nearest support level is around 1,627 (equivalent to the MA20 level of the Bollinger band).
Regarding today's market, experts from BIDV Securities Company stated that the VN-Index rose to 1,675 right from the opening, however, selling pressure pushed the index down, fluctuating between 1,635 and 1,650 before closing at 1,644.63 points, down nearly 14 points compared to yesterday.
Market breadth leaned towards the negative side, with 14 out of 18 sectors declining, the Insurance sector experiencing the sharpest drop, followed by the Information Technology sector… Conversely, the Industrial Goods & Services sector had a positive trading session. Regarding foreign investor activity, today they were net sellers on the HSX exchange and net buyers on the HNX and UPCOM exchanges.
The market is currently seeking equilibrium in the 1,600 - 1,725 range; in the short term, the market is facing resistance in the 1,645 - 1,660 range and needs to break through this area to return to the 1,700 - 1,725 range.
