Lively Christmas celebrations and activities

(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of Christmas 2015, on December 23rd, Party committees, authorities, and various departments and organizations in many localities organized meaningful activities such as visits, gift-giving, and exchanges.

* At the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Residence, the Nghi Loc District leadership delegation presented flowers to congratulate Bishop Nguyen Thai Hop and the priests.

The leaders of Nghi Loc district affirmed that in 2015, the district's socio-economic development made significant progress. In this overall achievement, the role of Bishop Nguyen Thai Hop and the priests in the district, who coordinated with the district government, the Fatherland Front, and the communes, to mobilize parishioners to effectively implement the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, as well as all local movements, must be mentioned.

Bishop Nguyen Thai Hop of the Vinh Diocese thanked the leaders of Nghi Loc district and expressed his hope that the Party, government, and Fatherland Front of the district would continue to pay attention to and assist the Catholic community in particular, and the people of the district in general, in developing the economy, culture, and society, and ensuring security and order.

On this occasion, the delegation also visited and congratulated the priests at Vinh Thanh Seminary and a number of religious establishments in the district.

* TIn Nghia Thuan commune, the leaders of Thai Hoa Town Party Committee held a cordial meeting with 28 key officials from the Catholic community.

Secretary of the Thai Hoa Town Party Committee Le Tien Tri presents gifts to Party members in the Catholic community who have been Party members for over 40 years.

Thai Hoa town currently has 217 households with 977 people who are Catholic. In 2015, key officials in the Catholic community consistently maintained their political integrity, actively strived to fulfill their duties, and set a leading example in disseminating and implementing the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, the State's policies and laws, especially those concerning religious activities. Many emulation movements for socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, and living a virtuous life were actively supported by the Catholic community.

Following the meeting, the town leaders visited Tan Cat parish in Nghia Thuan commune to present gifts to two Party members with over 40 years of Party membership, the Tan Cat parish pastoral council, and individuals in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Christmas 2015.

* At Thuan Giang Parish Church, Quynh Hung commune, the Women's Union of Quynh Luu district, in coordination with the Fatherland Front Committee and the District Population and Family Planning Center, organized a cultural exchange to welcome Christmas 2015.

On this occasion, the Provincial Women's Union presented two gifts to two union officials with particularly difficult circumstances, each gift consisting of a blanket and cash, worth 1 million VND. The Women's Union, the Fatherland Front Committee, and the Population and Family Planning Center of Quynh Luu district presented eight gifts to female members in Thuan Giang parish. The Women's Union of Quynh Hung commune also presented three gifts to union officials in difficult circumstances, each gift consisting of a blanket worth 300,000 VND.

* Vinh City Women's Union:

The Vinh City Women's Union organized visits to extend Christmas greetings to officials and members in Dong Vinh and Vinh Tan wards, and Nghi Phu, Nghi Duc, Hung Dong, and Nghi Kim communes. They also presented gifts to five disadvantaged women's union member families in Hamlet 7, Hung Chinh commune – a model example of a women's union gathering in a Catholic area.

This activity aims to encourage and promote the role of female members and cadres in religious communities, with the desire to continue making more contributions to the Women's Union's activities in the spirit of living a "good life and upholding moral values," contributing to the socio-economic development of the localities.

* The Border Guard Command of Nghe An province organized three delegations to visit and present gifts to priests, pastoral councils, and parishioners of Tan Loc and Cua Lo parishes.(Cua Lo town), Trang Canh, La Nham (Nghi Loc), Manh Son, Loc Thuy (Quynh Luu), Xuan Phong, Trung Song (Dien Chau).

The delegation extended warm greetings, presented gifts, and wished the priests, pastoral council, and numerous parishioners good health, unity, virtuous lives, a joyful and peaceful Christmas, and continued efforts to build stronger families, hometowns, and the country. They also expressed gratitude to the priests and parishioners in the border area for their support and assistance to the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard in building and firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the border and islands.

The priests and pastoral councils expressed their gratitude to the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard for their active assistance to the Catholic community in economic, cultural, and social development, poverty alleviation, and contributing to the development and improvement of the lives of the people in the Catholic region.
